Let 2021 be the year that you give a child a new start.

There is a critical need for more foster carers in North East Lincolnshire.

Our lifestyles have changed a lot recently.

COVID may have made you consider what is most important to you.

You may have enjoyed being at home and with family more.

Perhaps you’ve reconsidered your current role or started volunteering and realised that you love giving back.

Depending on your preferences and circumstances you may care for one child, or several children. This can be for a brief period or throughout their childhood.

Some children return home or to extended family and friends, some go on to adoption, some have a happy life in care. There is a great diversity to fostering.

The Fostering Team are recruiting more foster carers across the board but there is always a high need people who can care for sibling groups and teenagers.

Glynis Tinsley, the North East Lincolnshire Council Fostering Service manager said,

“Fostering is a rewarding role.

“We care that you care.

“Our supportive team offer a brilliant package of training and support and there is a network of professionals across the borough who support each child based on their needs after a thorough assessment.

“We welcome foster carers from various backgrounds.

“If you have ever thought about fostering before, let today be the day that you enquire.

“If it’s the first time you’ve considered it, why not call our friendly team to discuss it?”

Councillor Ian Lindley, Portfolio Holder for Children, Education and Young People said, “Caring for young people in our community ensures the happiness, health and wealth of our future.

“The whole community can help children in the care of our Authority by fostering or by letting their friends, family, and colleagues know that the Council is recruiting.

“Fostering is rewarding and enriching in many ways.

“Both the child and the foster carer have a lot to give and to gain through fostering.”
