Apply for a school place

The Citizen Portal is to be used for Phased Admission transfers (September start) at specified times of the year.


The School Admissions team administer school place applications for several different processes within the academic year.

You can find information on school admission processes and how to apply below.

Children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020 will be starting school for the first time (Reception year) in September 2024.

The application period for the first round of allocation closed on 15 January.  Please note that you will not be able to use the Citizen Portal to make an application after this time.

How to apply (From 16 January)

OR

  • Using a Common Application Form (PDF, 150KB) – You can download/print the CAF or request a copy from the School Admissions team. CAFs may also be available from your child’s current primary school office.

Applicants for the first round of allocation (for applications submitted by 15 January 2024) will receive their school place notification at National Offer Day, 16 April 2024.  Applicants who submitted via the Citizen Portal will be notified by email; applicants by other methods will be notified by letter to their home address within 5 days of National Offer Day.

Applicants who submitted applications after 16 January 2024 will receive their notification by letter at the second round of allocation in May 2024 or afterwards depending upon the time of submission.

Applications on religious reasons for the following schools only will need to be accompanied by the relevant evidence for verification:

If your child is currently in year 2 at an infant school they will need to transfer to year 3 at a junior school in September 2024.

All Year 2 children living in North East Lincolnshire and attending Queen Mary Avenue Infants, Scartho Infants, Signhills Infants or an infant school in a neighbouring county will receive information on how to apply in November 2023.

  • Using a Common Application Form (PDF, 148KB) – You can download/print the CAF or request a copy from the School Admissions team. CAFs may also be available from your child’s current infant school office.

Applicants for the first round of allocation (for applications submitted by 15 January 2024) will receive their school place notification at National Offer Day, 16 April 2024.  Applicants who submitted via the Citizen Portal will be notified by email; applicants by other methods will be notified by letter to their home address within 5 days of National Offer Day.

Applicants who submitted applications after 16 January 2024 will receive their notification by letter at the second round of allocation in May 2024 or afterwards depending upon the time of submission.

Children born between 1 September 2012 and 31 August 2013 are due to start secondary school in September 2024.

The application period for the first round of allocation closed on 31 October 2023. Please note that you will not be able to use the Citizen Portal to make an application after this time.

How to apply (from 1 November 2023)

  • Using a Common Application Form (PDF, 133KB) – You can download/print the CAF or request a copy from the School Admissions team. CAFs may also be available from your child’s current primary school office.

Applicants for the first round of allocation (for applications submitted by 31 October 2023) will receive their school place notification at National Offer Day, 1 March 2024.  Applicants who submitted via the Citizen Portal will be notified by email; applicants by other methods will be notified by letter to their home address within 5 days of National Offer Day.

Applicants who submitted applications after 31 October 2023 will receive their notification by letter at the second round of allocation in April 2024 or afterwards depending upon the time of submission.

Request to change primary school within the academic year.

The School Admissions team can only process requests for Beacon Academy.
