Local Authority Designated Officers (LADO)

Local Authority Designated Officers (LADOs) are responsible for managing allegations against adults who work or volunteer with children.

Every organisation that works with children should have a designated person for dealing with allegations. When they are informed of an allegation, they must contact the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) within one working day.
