North East Lincolnshire Street Work Permit Scheme

The North East Lincolnshire Street Work Permit Scheme is intended to deliver public benefits by minimising the inconvenience and disruption caused by road works to all road users.

Anyone intending to carry out work on the highway must apply for a permit which sets out how the work must be undertaken to minimise disruption. This includes works by utility companies and works carried out by North East Lincolnshire Council and its partners. It does not include activities such as builders’ skips and scaffolding.

The North East Lincolnshire Permit Scheme came into effect on the 1 July 2021.

Applications are made through the Street Manager portal found on GOV.UK – Plan and manage roadworks.

Fees

The fee levels that apply from 1 June 2024: 

  • Permit Fee Cat. 0 – 2 or Traffic Sensitive £101
  • Permit Fee Cat. 3 & 4 Non-Traffic Sensitive £70
  • Permit Fee Cat 0-2 or Traffic Sensitive £65
  • Permit Fee Cat 3 & 4 Non-Traffic Sensitive £45
  • Permit Fee Cat 0-2 or Traffic Sensitive £130
  • Permit Fee Cat 3 & 4 Non-Traffic Sensitive £75
  • Permit Fee Cat 0-2 or Traffic Sensitive £202
  • Permit Fee Cat 3 & 4 Non-Traffic Sensitive £127
  • Permit Fee Cat 0-2 or Traffic Sensitive £130
  • Permit Fee Cat 3 & 4 Non-Traffic Sensitive £75

Permit fee reduction

Reduction for works wholly outside of traffic sensitive times on traffic sensitive streets.

The Authority will apply a discount to both road Categories 3 – 4 that are Traffic Sensitive and Road Category 0-2, where the works are wholly outside indicated Traffic Sensitive Times.

Discount Rates is set at 30% on the standard permit fees.
