What you can bring
A list of items can be found on our A to Z directory of waste.
Most other waste and recycling and white goods will be accepted, however please note:
We do not accept at either recycling centre:
Asbestos
Only bonded asbestos from your home can be taken to the tip in Grimsby. You can take asbestos to the tip twice a week, but for only one visit each day with a maximum of 3 sheets at a time.
Asbestos will not be accepted every day or at all times. Please check before you book a slot.
Before you book
Let us know you are coming
You can book a slot to dispose of asbestos online. Alternatively, ring the waste services hotline.
Please make sure you tell us at least 24 hours before you visit.
Commercial or large vehicles and trailers
If you visit the tip in any of these vehicles, you must complete an online declaration form before coming to the site.
This includes:
Luton vans and large box vans will not be accepted.
Please note, estate cars and SUV people carriers are allowed two loads per day. If you regularly use the site in a smaller car, you may be asked to complete an online declaration form.
Customers with disabilities
If you have a disability and require assistance then please contact the Council’s Waste Hotline on 01472 326288. Our staff can register your details on the waste declaration form, which will ensure that help is given to you when you are on site.
Support following a bereavement
We understand that dealing with a loved one’s belongings can be a difficult and emotional time. Where a resident has passed away and the property needs to be cleared, support is available for relatives or those managing the estate.
If you are dealing with a bereavement and require guidance, please contact the Waste Services Hotline, and our team will be able to advise you on the process.
Bike sales and Bric-a-Brac items
Bric-a-Brac and bikes are available to buy daily. Proceeds go to local charities and good causes.
