North East Lincolnshire Council have created a new support guide, aimed at supporting people across the borough to build and improve upon their business.

With almost 5,000 registered enterprises, the area is abundant with thriving businesses who offer a range of services and products.

Now, InvestNEL, the Council’s economy and funding team, have launched the Business Support Guide to help with a range of topics such as grant funding, recruitment and marketing.

It contains a range of free and funded support from local to national bodies such as Business Lincolnshire, Job Centre Plus and the Federation of Small Businesses.

The guide is available to download on the InvestNEL Business Support page and will be updated throughout each year to ensure the most up-to-date information is available to North East Lincolnshire businesses.

Matt Sylvester, Economy and Funding Specialist, said: “This guide is a one-stop shop for businesses who want to further develop the success they’ve already built.

“I would encourage all business owners to have a look at some of the opportunities available to them, it may be exactly what you’re looking for.”

Councillor Steve Harness, Portfolio Holder for Finance, Resources and Assets, added: “Local businesses are at the heart of what we’re trying to do as a Council.

“They are often ran by people and families who don’t just work in the borough, but live here too. To ensure they have a successful life, we need to do all we can to help their businesses; this guide does exactly that.

“In addition, the redevelopment of Freshney Place is essential for helping businesses thrive and ensuring a sustainable future for our economy. We are committed to doing everything we can to make the future of North East Lincolnshire a positive one and with these projects and resources such as the business guide, we are taking huge steps forward to achieving this.”
