A new livery has been unveiled on waste collection vehicles in North East Lincolnshire this week.
People living in North East Lincolnshire will be able to spot the vehicles, which are used to collect around 3,000 tonnes of household waste each month, driving around North East Lincolnshire this week.
The new design encourages local people to quit smoking with support from the Council’s Wellbeing Service.
Councillor Stan Shreeve, Deputy Leader of North East Lincolnshire Council and portfolio holder for health, wellbeing and adult social care, said:
“We have an incredibly supportive team of people on hand to help support anyone in the local community who wants to stop smoking.
“Go online to refer yourself, pick up the phone to chat, email an advisor, download the app, or head to a drop-in session. It couldn’t be easier to quit with us. As well as all of this support, you will have access to free nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) and a vape. Why wait? Choose to quit with our team.”
The service offers a range of support including in-person advice sessions, phone calls/texts and stop smoking aids that can help you to not smoke when you feel you really want to.
You can get access to a free vape starter kit, with a 12-week supply of salts when using the service and meeting regularly with the team, as well as Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT), such as nicotine patches and gum. You can use more than one of these paths.

A newly prescribed medication will also soon be available with the service to North East Lincolnshire residents. Varenicline is a prescription-only, nicotine-free medication used to help adults stop smoking by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms.
