Support for our Foster Carers in North East Lincolnshire.

In North East Lincolnshire, we are committed to ensuring foster carers feel supported, valued, and connected to their community. As part of this commitment, we work with local organisations to build a network of understanding and practical help for everyone involved in fostering. This includes flexible support from employers, awareness across our borough, and access to local benefits that make day‑to‑day life a little easier.
Support from local businesses
Practical workplace support
Through the Foster Friendly scheme, businesses across the area show their support by offering:
“Making a declaration to become Foster Friendly we believe is making a commitment to the community. We should be a part of it. We are a part of our community, and we want to make sure we are proactive.” – Mark Webb, E-Factor

Community discounts and offers
Many Foster Friendly businesses also provide discounts, services or experiences for foster families. Carers simply show their ID badge to access these perks.
If you would like to order an ID badge please speak to your fostering social worker.
If you’re a business and want to help make a difference, get in touch with the team by emailing [email protected].
Training offer
We want all our foster carers to feel confident and have the skills and knowledge to help them in their roles. We are committed to ensuring that foster carers are supported in their learning and development which is why we offer an extensive range of training courses and workshops.
All foster carers have access to all the corporate training which is available to all professionals who work in children’s services, as well as access to online training and reading material.
We have a training and development programme which details all of the training we have on offer to foster carers as well as useful links to websites on a wide range of topics, and what support is available to all foster carers.
Speak to your fostering social worker about upcoming training and sign up to the monthly foster carers newsletter which has a break down of what is on offer.
If you don’t receive the newsletter and would like to please email [email protected]
Events
We have events for foster families throughout the year ranging from summer fun days to chocolate making. Foster carers should receive emails allowing them to book onto the events but if you don’t or would like access to this information in a different way, please speak to your fostering social worker.
You can also join the private fostering group on Facebook – to get access to this please email [email protected]
