Our New Learning Platform, Academy NEL has now Launched!

Academy NEL replaces the previous Children and Families Learning Zone and provides a simpler, more personalised way for partners, professionals and external learners to access learning, training courses and development opportunities.

You will now need to register for an Academy NEL account here: Sign in – SPARK NELC  and use the Branch Code EXT1026

The registration process is quick and straightforward and will allow you to access learning relevant to your role and organisation. Take a look at the video guide and step by step instructions here to support you with this.

Already booked onto training?

If you are currently booked onto a course, programme or event taking place from Monday 12 October 2026 onwards, you will need to:

• Register for an Academy NEL account as instructed above
• Log in to the new platform
• Re-book onto your training course/session to confirm your place. Unconfirmed places cannot be held.

This is required to ensure your booking is transferred correctly and remains active on our new system.

Whether you’re a partner organisation, commissioned provider, volunteer, foster carer, school professional or member of our wider learning community, Academy NEL has been designed around your learning needs.

The Safeguarding Children Partnership (SCP) Training and Education Programme follows the guidance in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2026, the Local Arrangements, Priorities, Practice Arrangements and Threshold Document. It aims to ensure children and families get the right support, at the right time and by the right person.

We want children in North East Lincolnshire to grow up happy, healthy, safe in their homes and surrounded by people who love them. Our goal is for every child to reach their full potential through learning and aspiration. By working together, we can achieve our vision of “Our Children, Our Future.”

The programme covers early help and safeguarding, aligning with SCP priorities and emerging issues. We are committed to continuous improvement, ensuring professionals have up to date knowledge and skills to support children’s wellbeing.

Our training reflects national and local best practices, case reviews, audits, and training needs analysis. It is evaluated to measure its impact and supports partners in delivering effective services.

North East Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Partnership Training Strategy (PDF, 1MB) – This strategy aims to create a plan for multi-agency safeguarding training based on local needs and lessons learned from research and practice, including safeguarding reviews.
