Pay by Direct Debit
If you have made an arrangement to pay your Housing Benefit overpayment then Direct Debit is the easiest way to do this. You can set up the payments to be made on the 1st of the month. Payments made by Direct Debit are also protected by the Direct Debit guarantee .
To set up a Direct Debit call us on 0300 3030164 selecting option 2. You need to be the bank account holder and the bill must be in your name.
You can also print off the Set up Direct Debit form (PDF, 149KB) , complete and sign it and either send it by post to the address on the form or email it to [email protected]
Pay online
To make a payment online using a debit or credit card complete our Housing Benefit overpayment form.
You will need your invoice number and your card details. The balance shown will be the total balance on your account and not always the amount that is due on this instalment. You can manually enter your instalment amount to pay what is currently due.
To avoid paying online each month you can set up a Direct Debit.
Pay by telephone
You can pay over the telephone by debit or credit card. All you need to do is call 0300 3030164 and select option 1 at any time of the day. You will need your invoice number and card details.
Pay at the post office or a pay point
Take your bill to a post office or a shop that accepts pay point payments and they will take the payment. A full list of these can be found at allpay . You must take your bill with you for payment to be accepted. You should keep your receipt as proof of payment.
Pay by standing order
You must arrange this with your own bank

Direct bank transfer
If you bank online, you can use your own bank’s facilities to make a payment online.
