CHILDREN living in children’s homes have received a special gift this Easter, thanks to a donation by supermarket, Morrisons.

The local store, based on Laceby Road, Grimsby, has donated a chocolate Easter egg to every child living in residential care at North East Lincolnshire Council, including to those 16 and 17 year olds living in supported accommodation.

According to staff working in the service, the children were ‘overjoyed’ by their Easter treat.

A spokesperson for North East Lincolnshire Council’s Children’s Services, said:

“I’d like to thank Morrisons Grimsby for this wonderful donation. Our children are so overjoyed with their Easter gift – it means quite a lot to them!

Morrisons Community Champion, Theresa Horner, said:

“I’m thrilled that we could donate these eggs to such a fantastic cause. We’ve made a number of donations to charitable organisations across the UK and I’m really pleased that local children could benefit from a chocolate to brighten up their Easter.”

The donation was made ahead of the Easter weekend.
