PHILIPS 66 and Orsted have donated almost 1000-tickets to the local pantomime to children and families in North East Lincolnshire.
The tickets have been distributed to local foster carers and children living in care in North East Lincolnshire.
This year’s pantomime held at Grimsby Auditorium is ‘Dick Wittington meets Pirates from the Caribbean’, starring Martin Daniels, son of the late magician, Paul Daniels, and Sue Hodge, who starred in television series ‘Allo ‘Allo.
North East Lincolnshire Council’s children services have distributed the tickets to families that they’re working with, spreading some Christmas cheer.
Councillor Margaret Cracknell, portfolio holder for children and education, said:
“It’s an incredibly generous donation from Orsted and Philips 66 – two businesses with a strong foothold in our region.
“Our officers have distributed the tickets among our most vulnerable families, foster carers and their children, and to the children living in our residential homes.
“I’d like to thank the two businesses for spreading the Christmas cheer.”
Paul Fursey, Lead Executive and General Manager Phillips 66 Humber Refinery, said:
“We are proud to support the communities where we live and work and this donation is part of our larger Humber Heart programme, where we will be donating £20,000 to local charities as well as taking Christmas eve hampers to all the children in a Grimsby primary school which unfortunately we can’t name yet as Santa has asked us to keep it top secret!”
Lee Thompson, commercial fisheries manager at Ørsted, said: ‘Our community is important to us all year round, but it’s lovely to be able to give something back at Christmas. We are hoping that this panto offering will help families get into the festive spirit. After all, there’s no business like snow business!”
