To provide a better understanding of business rates in North East Lincolnshire we publish the our data.

Business rates billing and recovery

This information will be updated annually in the business rates annual statistics spreadsheet:

• Number of properties
• Number of accounts raised at initial billing
• Number of new bills, reminders, summonses and liability orders issued in year
• Estimated net collectable debit in respect of business rates
• Total receipts of business rates
• Receipts of business rates as a % of net collectable debit
• Number of business rates cases referred to bailiffs
• Costs to court (gross value of costs raised, including summonses)
• No of reminders issued (including final notices)
• No of summonses issued
• No of liability orders granted

Business rates annual statistics (XLS, 14KB)  – Business rates data from 2007 to the end of the last financial year. Updated annually.

Values of summons and liability orders granted

Value of summons and liability orders granted (XLS, 12KB)  – The numbers of summonses and liability orders from 2004 to the end of the last full financial year. Updated annually.

Business rates liable properties

Details of all properties liable for business rates. It will be updated annually, each January, with a list of live accounts as of 31 December.

• Business rates liable property list (XLS, 371KB)  – Updated December 2024

The following information will be updated every three months providing a snapshot at that time. Updates will be available by the end of June, September, December and March and will include data up to the end of the previous month.

• Small business rate relief cases awarded (XLS, 2MB)  – A snapshot of small business rate relief cases awarded, updated every three months
• Mandatory relief cases awarded (XLS, 222KB)  – A snapshot of mandatory relief cases, updated every three months
• Business accounts with credit balances (XLS, 225KB)  – A snapshot of accounts with credit balances, updated every three months
• Discretionary relief cases (XLS, 65KB)  – A snapshot of the business rates discretionary relief awarded, updated every three months
• Retail relief cases awarded (XLS, 579KB)  – A snapshot of the retail relief cases, updated every three months
• Business accounts with write ons (XLS, 230KB)  – A snapshot of business accounts with write ons, updated every three months
• Empty properties owned by businesses (XLS, 505KB)  – A snapshot of empty properties owned by businesses, updated every three months

Newly liable properties

Newly liable property list is updated 3 months, and provides a list of all North East Lincolnshire properties newly liable for non-domestic rates. It shows the:

• property address
• liable party
• rateable value
• start date of rateable value
• valuation office agency reference number, where available

All newly liable properties (XLS, 27KB)  – A list of new properties newly liable for business rates, updated every 3 months.

Properties no longer liable

The properties no longer liable are updated every 3 months. The list provides details of all North East Lincolnshire properties which are no longer liable for non-domestic rates, and includes:

• account end date
• valuation office agency reference number, where available
• property address

Accounts are updated daily and information published on this page is only updated periodically. With regard to the list of credit balances there may be corresponding accounts with debit balances

All ended liable properties (XLS, 23KB) – A list of ended liabilities for business rates, updated every 3 months.

COVID-19 Grants for Businesses

In response to Coronavirus, COVID-19, the Government announced there would be a scheme of financial support for businesses. This support is taking the form of multiple grants.

Details of businesses who have received support from North East Lincolnshire Council for the Small Business Grant Fund and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund can be found in North East Lincolnshire Covid Grants (XLS, 200KB) .

Details of businesses who have received support from North East Lincolnshire Council for the Local Restrictions Support Grant, Closed Business Lockdown Payment, Wet Pub Christmas Support Grant and The Restart Grant can be found in Covid Grant Payments (XLS, 176KB)

Information we do not publish

We are unable to disclose information relating to properties owned by individuals, as this information is classed as ‘personal data’ as defined in the Data Protection Act. Personal data is exempt from disclosure by section 40 (2) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
